Chintan Zalavadia

Chintan Zalavadia Born on 13th February 1986, Chintan studied Painting and pursued graduation from Faculty of Fine Arts, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 2008 and Post Graduation in Printmaking from same University in 2012. At the onset of his career one could see that Zalavadia was very much influenced by none of the master artist but by the comedian actors. From them, he has found an idiom that is very much his own. Zalavadia’s works represent sense of humor, desire and humor from his characters. The bases of his works are on the realities of human relationships and their subtle complexities. Zalavadia says, “In my earlier works, I used to work only drawing images, which came from my day to day life and from my visual experience. I always touch on my various points of humor and fun. I did just drawing practice for one and half year to achieve humor from my character. Even I have not done any painting within this period, and after that I found my new way of satire and humor in drawing.”
